SPOTLIGHT ON: Bronglais Hospital Aberystwyth Protec Evolve Refurbishment

This month's Spotlight Project is Aberystwyth's Bronglais Hospital, the major hospital for Ceredigion and West Wales. Despite previous work (by another company), the hospital had suffered damage from water ingress, requiring some 1200m2 of roof to be repaired and refurbished.

RM Polymers were called in.

The roof needed some serious attention, involving everything from eroded mortar and migrated cappings to huge air conditioning units being lifted with scaffold poles and severely perished asphalt. Add in the sheer size of the roof and the fact it all had to be done with absolute minimum disruption to the vital workings of hospital staff below (meaning low odour and high speed) and the enormity of the mission becomes clear. 

We succeeded though, and Bronglais Hospital now has a snug, high-performance, fully waterproof and weatherproof roof that will last for over 30 years.
