Commercial Application

Whatever kind of business your roof covers, finding a roofer who understands your business' unique needs can be difficult. Commercial and public premises often have large or unusual areas, walkways, air conditioning units, guttering networks, ventilation, fire escapes and other regulations that don't apply to domestic roof owners.  We work with roofs new and old - quickly and mess-free, with so little disruption that we're used by NHS hospitals. We offer a transferable 10-year guarantee, a 25-year cleaning & maintenance service, theftproof metal roof alternatives, anti-skid walkways, innovative watercourse solutions and much more - all using our affordable, highly flexible polymer roofing system.

Damage extended over the whole roof area and posed a risk to the use of rooms below

Soaking insulation boards were a major problem not quoted for (not known about) in the overlay specification from this NHS Hwyel Dda Health Trust hospital. Replacing this full-tapered insulation system would have cost almost 15k, and the hospital had no other budget left to allocate - which could have scuppered the whole project.

A solution to help our NHS keep extremely important rooms in use was needed... and we found one.

Despite the wet Welsh weather, we were able to reach the chimneys to grind out the pointing

These problematic chimneys, in a conservation area at the old gas works in Aberystwyth, West Wales, needed waterproofing.

The chimney pots themselves were disused, having been capped with matching terracotta ventilation caps, which were removable to allow change of use of the chimney flue.

To begin with, the pointing around the chimney stacks was ground out with flat blade diamond discs to 30mm, then repointed with premixed lime…

Moss had grown in several areas, with clear signs of retained damp

Gwenllian Morgan Court in Brecon in South Wales LD3 7ET needed refurbishment for the flat walkway-style areas of its rooftop (i.e. between slate areas).

As the photographs show, this was well within the capability of the polymer system - the main issue being creating a jointless, seamlessly waterproof seal when the roof is of two different materials.

This was, however, no problem. The final result is neat, watertight and…

The work included cutting off undersized gutters and fitting drip trim

This metal mobile portable telecoms unit in North Devon required improvements to the roof.

The gutters, which were small, kept blocking. As this causes a range of serious problems, the gutters were removed. New drip trim and deep flow alloy gutters were fitted, creating a roof that will now channel water properly.

Following this, the entire roof was then encapsulated in poly roof Protec fiberglass, completing the roof.

Water was pooling, sometimes in large areas

A 180m2 roof area of National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth is undergoing installation as part of a wider decarbonsation plan for the public sector.

The roof had to be refurbished with a long-lasting jointless and seamless roofing system as the entire roof will be underneath steel RSJs supporting a heat pump. The roof was mastic asphalt covered in chippings & moss. It needed to be cleared and de-chipped, before having all defects…

After pressure washing, the entire roof area was coated

This single ply membrane roof at the University of Aberystwyth had been leaking for many years. After preparation works, including pressure washing to thoroughly clean the area, three splits were found, necessitating a roof replacement. Polymer roofing is a better-lasting material that doesn't split after time (the degradation process is slower and results in gradual 'chalking' rather than splits or lifts - meaning no water ingress).
