This onetime-garage flat roof in Comins Coch a mile outside Aberystwyth in West Wales needed to conform to strict U value standards as it was being remodelled as a family kitchen and would be attached to the main property, thus making it a warm roof as well as a flat roof.
The fully adhered Powerdeck B insulation board is a high performance, rigid foam board with excellent strength and stability and very low thermal conductivity, making it the perfect insulation board for warm roofing. One of the advantages of using it in tandem with liquid membrane systems is that polymer roofing saves over-boarding the insulation - this leaves the vapour barrier intact and unpierced AND saves you time and money.
A high U-value of 0.13 compensates for the 2 large skylights and bi-fold doors, meaning this garage-conversion kitchen will stay warm and dry despite all the glass!
