Borth Ynyslas Seaside House - A Full Polymer Refurb

This seaside property in Borth (Ynyslas) on the west coast of Cerdigion in Wales really put the polymer system through its paces, using the system's incredible versatility to achieve multiple ends that ultimately involved not just roofs but walls and windows.

The house now has a polymer lined balcony, converted from an existing roof area, a fully sealed and watertight Dorma window, and coated walls, protecting it from the worst of the Welsh weather and sea winds for many years to come.

Argos Roof Maintenance and Repairs

The roof of the Argos in Aberystwyth in West Wales was so choked with vegetation and debris from nesting birds, leaves and general accumulation, that the store had begun to flood badly. This had cost the business significant money cleaning up the mess and had also lost Argos thousands of pounds in damaged stock.

Aberystwyth University Laboratory - Llandinam, Penglais

QA Project reroofing the Llandinam Building, a laboratory on Aberystwyth University's Penglais Campus:

Multiple factors problematised the successful waterproofing of this laboratory refurbishment, including issues with keeping the building itself waterproof while the works progressed.

The laboratory roof has a series of higher levels draining into central chute outlets and discharging onto lower level roofs. These lower roofs have glazing along their entire lengths.

Aberystwyth Balcony with Quartz System

Aberystwyth, on the wet and windy west coast of Wales, is a place that knows how important waterproofing is! Balconies that pool and collect water are balconies that rot and decay before their time, never lasting as long as their materials would suggest. The polymer system, which reuses plastic polymer particles, keeping them out of rivers and seas, is fully waterproof. It provides a seamless, jointless covering for balconies, roofs and walkways.

Adaptable flashings for non-standard skylight at Aberystwyth University

Knowing the polymer system's flexibility and our high standard of work, Aberystwyth University in West Wales asked us to solve a tricky skylight issue...

Flashings and kerb upstands tend to be manufactured to particular sizes, meaning that non-standard skylights made to special size requirements can often present a challenge.

Ceredigion Training Centre in Llanbadarn, Aberystwyth, West Wales

The roof of the Ceredigion Training Centre at Llanbadarn on the outskirts of Aberystwyth was in dire need of proper insulation. The existing roof did not conform to government U-values and the cold roof was costing the training centre money in heating.

We worked with the existing mastic asphalt roof, saving time, money and resources. The entire area was cleaned, with increased ply fascias fitted in preparation for the roof to receive the tapered insulation - a thickly insulated power deck designed for foot traffic.

New Warm Roof for Home in Comins Coch, Aberystwyth

This onetime-garage flat roof in Comins Coch a mile outside Aberystwyth in West Wales needed to conform to strict U value standards as it was being remodelled as a family kitchen and would be attached to the main property, thus making it a warm roof as well as a flat roof.

Belle Vue Hotel in Aberystwyth

The popular 36 room Belle Vue Hotel in Aberystwyth contacted us in desperate need of a new roof for a rear-facing area of the hotel. The existing mastic asphalt roof was blistered and leaking, requiring full re-waterproofing and weatherproofing, all while the hotel remained operational.

Bow Street Insulated Warm Roof

Warm Roofs are roofs that meet strict government guidelines for insulation or U-value (read more about warm roofs)

This project in Bow Street near Aberystwyth demonstrates how easy it can be to turn an existing roof into a warm roof - a simple process involving first stripping it down to the joists then fitting perimeter insulation inside the void and cold bridging joist.

Llangynfelin CP School, Ceredigion Powys Border

The GRP flat roof on this rural Welsh Primary School, on the Powys-Ceredigion border, had severely cracked after the long dry summer due to its age, leaving it in dire need of refurbishment or replacement.

Although the school address was Machynlleth, which is in Powys, the school is technically in Ceredigion therefore it was Ceredigion County Council's responsibility to secure fast repair. Having used us for several school roofing projects previously, they knew our reputation for speed, efficiency and high performance roofing at cost-effective rates, was well deserved.
