Lead Alternative Polymer Canopy in Kidwelly, Wales

This porch canopy in Kidwelly (SA16 / SA17) was in desperate need of replacement as a result of continual lead theft.

Leadwork on higher roofs is frequently stolen but the easier, lower reach of this canopy had made it especially attractive to thieves.

Glengower Hotel Aberystwyth 20 Year Polymer Roof

The Glengower is a traditional sea-front pub and restaurant in the popular West Wales town of Aberystwyth. Its roof was suffering standing water (a major cause of water ingress, mould growth and eventual roof instability).

We removed the standing water by increasing the sump sizes, lowering the outlets and removing the duct work while new waterproofing was applied. After that, the duct work was quickly refitted. The process and our approach eliminated disruption to the hotel, a major consideration in particular for public-facing businesses of this nature.

Aberystwyth University dance studio refurb

These portacabin-style dance studios at Aberystwyth University (SY23) were in need of refurbishment involving coating the metal cladding to waterproof it and prolong its life.

We used the Polycoat RoofTec Elite system over the entire exterior - demonstrating the incredible versatility of the polymer system and the range of uses in which it excels.

WHERE NOW?

Aberystwyth cold roof terrace

This cold roof terrace in Aberystwyth, West Wals (SY23) supplies upgraded ventilation and new decking for the owners. The whole balcony is jointless and seamless, meaning water drains away readily and the terrace takes advantage of both a Polyroof 20 year waterproofing system and a 10 year quartz system.

This Dorma window refurbishment in Aberystwyth, West Wales (SY23) shows no job is too small for the polymer system!

We installed a 15 year overlay system 15 year, ventilation inserted, over an increase of 80mm insulated plaster board. This resulted in noticeable improvement on heat loss.

Fall Correction to Terrace in Caernarfon

Lead Roof Alternative Awning in Kidwelly SA17

This property in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire in South Wales (SA17) required a complete refurbishment of the existing lead awning running the length of one wall and then curving around a corner. As the photographs show, the lead had seriously perished, creating damage to the underlying waterproofing and areas of water ingress.

Warm Roof in New Quay, Ceredigion SA25

This project involved two roofs at the same property in New Quay on the West Wales Ceredigion coast (SA25). One was a smaller, low-level flat roof with a skylight and tapered drainage; the other was a large, warm roof area atop the building which needed lipped ridge sills to help protect the pitched skylight windows below from excess water. As the photos show, the polymer installation also runs up the side of the chimney stack, creating a jointless seamless barrier to prevent water ingress.

Terrace Balcony Warm Roof Upgrade in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire

This complicated warm roof upgrade of a terrace in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, West Wales SA61, had some unusual requirements - including difficult detailing around a defined secret guttering system and pads for metal safety railings. The 1.6m wide terrace balcony area was showing signs of wear and rot and the owners also wanted to give it a general facelift. They opted for a 20 year Protec system, traditional-look railings, all finished with beautiful, cost effective porcelain tiling (around £14 each) with adjustable angle and height pads.
